Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - Men's group for car maintenance

Men's group for car maintenance

Today the men took part in a session about car maintenance. Tim, one of the group members, is skilled with car repairs and wanted to share his knowledge with the group. He has worked closely with our group support worker, Dave, to arrange the session. He got everybody ‘hands on’ with basic car checks and shared some top tips (and potential money savers).

Everybody learnt something new about the mechanics – it was interesting to see how engines have changed over the years. Tim has a great depth of knowledge and was able to let us know how cars have developed, for example what oil types to use, spark plug types and why I don’t have a choke in my car anymore!

Thank you Tim for sharing your skills!

We always welcome the sharing of skills and knowledge in our groups – is there anything you would like to share?

P.S. Have you got that song in your head now? High, low, anywhere we go..

Preparing...

Welsh Culture visit to Conwy Castle

View from the top!

As part of the accreditation for the Welsh Language and Culture group we visited Conwy Castle

The group look happy :)
The group enjoyed the visit welcoming the opportunity to explore the castle seeped in history.

Built in 1283 by Edward 1 Conwy Castle form part of an ‘iron ring’ of castles which were designed to quell Welsh uprisings.

Today the castle is one of the best preserved castles in the whole of North Wales.

Oh the weather outside is.....

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

Here we are again. Nearly a month later than I would have liked to have seen the snow for a white Christmas.

For the second Wednesday running the surrounding conditions have meant we have cancelled groups for safety reasons.

As ever, it's about taking the positives and finding new answers to the new questions. Fun :)

What ideas can you think of? Photography if snowy scenes. snowball 'fights'. sledging, warm fires, hot chocolate, knitting a cosy scarf....the list goes on.

This picture made me chuckle (it's also very sadly true for me!)

Be safe out there!
